Mary Girgis Church


This was the church of the hold Churches of the Roman fort, built by rich Athanasius in 684 AD, but unfortunately fire burned eighty years ago, leaving them only outside the reception hall known as the "Hall Erssan" dating back to the fourteenth century.

It is noteworthy that the region contains a host of other churches near the Mosque of Amr ibn al-Aas within the city of Fustat, namely: - the Church of Abu Sayfeen- Anba Shenouda - Almsheeria - Babylon El Darak- Abba Khaber and Youhana- Prince Tadros Mashraky - Archangel Michael - Deir Abu Seven Sisters - Mina Zahra ancient Egypt.
